This Where You Come From
This Where You Come From
A Women’s History Month Poem by Sharon Sober-Outlaw
Art by Genea Morrow
We must always remember the beginning & foundation where we started.
The importance of giving back.
My Auntie told me remember when to stir the pot.
This where you come from.
We stand on the shoulder's of those who came before us.
Sometimes we need broad shoulders depending on the circumstances.
This will carry you to the next level of understanding.
There's enough to go around.
We must maintain & support and remember to look back.
Moving forward can sometimes be uncomfortable.
When you become more familiar with the process and explore.
You will resonate with confidence.
You'll be standing tall thinking back or do you just keep moving forward and never looking back.
Think about it.
