20th Milestone Appreciation Celebration

Hello Onyx Family,

A big THANK YOU from the Onyx Fine Arts Collective board for joining us at our 20th Year Milestone Appreciation Celebration at the ArtLove Salon in downtown Seattle. We estimate 150 of our patrons and artists were in attendance to hear the fabulous Josephine Howell rock the house with her amazing voice and band, as well as, being dazzled by our very talented youth dancers from the Northwest Tap Connection. And the food catered by the Island Soul restaurant was definitely on point as usual. Feedback from our guests is still reverberating with the historical success of Onyx, and best wishes for the future.

Onyx continues to be an organization that’s built on its volunteers, and we’re happy to report that the 20th Year Celebration went smoothly because of the efforts of our volunteers Cos, Jackie, Jenn, Lee, Leila, Nia, Tsewone, and Tharanah. Additionally, we want to recognize ArtLove representative Christopher Coleman and his crew. A highlight of the evening was the announcement of the winner of the first Onyx Fine Arts Collective volunteer of the year award. The award was given to Fin’es Scott.

We are close to opening the last exhibit of the year, which is our “Holiday Season” exhibit. We requested artwork from artists priced $600 or less. The objective of lower-priced artwork (lower-priced is not synonymous with lower quality) is to make original art more affordable and allow both seasoned collectors to add more wonderful artwork to their collections and first-time collectors to enter the collecting arena.

Our holiday exhibit opens November 21, 2025. The reception for this new Holiday Season exhibit takes place on November 23, 2025, from 2 – 5 pm in Gallery Onyx, located in the Pacific Place Shopping Center at 600 Pine Street. We’re on the third floor of the Center. Please join us.

Onyx is excited to start another 20-year period. Our objective to showcase the best artwork by artists of African descent from Seattle and the Pacific Northwest remains the same. We continue to find new artists from our area, or might I say new artists continue to find Onyx. Our success is validated through your support.

Again, thank you.
