Submission Instructions for Artwork

Acceptable media: Drawing, painting, photography, ceramics, and other 2D or 3D works.

Please review the guidelines below before submitting:

1. Original work only. No copies, reproductions, derivatives, or work based on copyrighted or previously published material.

2. Previously exhibited work: Artwork may have been shown in a past Onyx exhibition only if at least 10 months have passed since it was last exhibited at Gallery Onyx.

3. 2D / wall-hung work: Maximum size is 48” H x 48” W, including frame. Exceptions may be considered based on the overall work. Must weigh under 20 lbs.

4. 3D work: Works requiring a pedestal or horizontal surface may not exceed 20” H x 10” W x 10” D and must weigh under 20 lbs. Please note that space for freestanding 3D work is limited.

5. Artwork must be for sale. Onyx Fine Arts Collective handles all sales and tax reporting. Artists receive 70%, and Onyx retains a 30% commission (both calculated before tax). Payments are typically processed at the end of each month.

6. Direct artist submissions only. Submissions from galleries or artist representatives will not be accepted.

7. Presentation requirements: All work must be gallery-ready. Wall-hung pieces must be properly wired (no sawtooth hangers, single hooks, or taped attachments unless approved). No in-gallery construction or assembly is permitted without prior approval.

8. Selection process: Final artwork selection is made by Onyx. Artists will be contacted to arrange drop-off and pickup.

9. Selected artists may have their work highlighted across Onyx media and promotional platforms.
