Earl Ashford, Jr.
A native son, of the Pacific Northwest born and raised in the City of Seattle, my photography, has been a long road, over some forty years. Photography class, at Seattle Central Community College, night class, a two year online course, for The New York Photography School, was my formal introduction to photography.
Photography has been my interests of mine for years, after spending over 25 years in the printing industry, which, has given me keen understanding of color, and how colors come together on paper. Taking that knowledge and putting, it together with a camera, has given me a good working understanding, of cameras, concept, and feeling. After retirement, turning my hobby of photography into “Photo’s By Earl” had to be my next step, in my progression in Life.
Some of my first ventures, with a camera, came when I was overseas, in the service, when I was in Viet-num, with the old Kodak green box camera instamatic; the country has so much beauty, so I took picture all through my tour. When returning to the states, bought a camera, and start taking black white films, I, learn how to develop my film and print my own prints. And to truly understand lighting, shadows, tones
My job as a photographer, first, is to capture your eye when looking into my photographs, second lead your eye to what I, what you to see in my photography, third, let your mind explore, the different concepts, and must immortelle the term composition. These three concepts, are essential in makes a great photography.
My love for photography, has taken me to some of the most scenic places, in our beautiful county. While capturing some amazing photography’s from around the world while taking advantage of the Pacific Northwest scenery where, I make my home, along with my family. I’m surrounding both by natural beauty and interesting people. I, use my camera to document the world and then print images with a focus in the magic I find in daily life. My pictures tell my stories.
Through my prints and Photo Books, I invite you too bring bits of my stories into your life and home. My Books and website, are a visual way, my work can be viewed; also, I produce four different sizes of prints, ranging from 5x7 to 13x19.
