2011 ARTISTS

PARTICIPATING ARTISTS:

Tariku Belay studied art at Addis Ababa, University School of Design, and Fine Arts in Ethiopia He has participated in group exhibitions as well as single shows.

Lisa Brown, photographer, exhibits doors that spoke to her about their character, beauty and intricacies.

Eugene Campbell, of Lewisville, Texas, uses the medium of collage to stretch the confines of traditional paintings.

Valencia Carroll, a student of the Juliette Aristides Atelier, works in the style of Classical Realism.

Jim Coley has been a professional photographer in the Seattle area for over 35 years. He worked for the Boeing Company as a Commercial-Industrial photographer. While working there he was recognized with many prestigious awards for his images.

Marzil Davis

Al Doggett created illustrations for a number of advertising agencies in New York before opening his studio in Seattle in 1967, which now specializes in photographic restoration. He is well known as a fine artist.

Esther Ervin was trained as a Medical Illustrator, and has altered her path to focus on sculpture and metalsmithing. Her works often reference the natural world.


Cynthia Fowler was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from Alabama A&M University. She began her quilting journey 21 years ago and has true passion for the art. She designs traditional and modern quilts with a variety of colorful and ethnic fabrics.

Sharon Geraci is a mixed media artist and instructor with a primary focus on collage. She has been in numerous exhibitions in the Northwest and in Washington, DC. Most of her work has specific sociocultural references, set against an abstract background, symbolizing the modern world.

George Jennings specializes in contemporary portrait paintings using various mediums, such as acrylic, oil and graphite.

Chaz Lindsey

Adikat Oyetunji is a member of the Society for Nigerian Artists, Art Zero, and the Art Galleries Association of Nigeria and has taken part in many group exhibitions sponsored by these organizations and the National Gallery of Art.

Charles H. Parrish grew up in Stewarts Draft, Virginia. Since moving to the State of Washington, he has fine-tuned his skills in sculpture and stone carving. He was the recipient of a Pathways Scholarship and the Seattle Urban League’s James Washington Honorable Mention Award.

Ashby Reed has been in Commercial Art all his life. As a Creative type,he is having a wonderful time transitioning back to his first love, the Fine Arts.

Sheri Stephens

Earnest Thomas' paintings are best described as abstract mixed media with a sculptural and industrial flair. He utilizes acrylic paint on board incorporating metal sheet, rod, or wire as an additional dimension which adds interplay through shadow, texture and color.

Eddie Walker

Carletta Carrington Wilson's works were created as part of a month-long residency at the James Washington Jr. studio. In addition to honoring the Washington's and their legacy, she honors the lives of newly freed individuals hundreds of years ago. Ms. Wilson is a poet and writer.
